The office for the Cape May County Division of Veterans' Services is located in Rio Grande.
The Cape May County Division of Veterans’ Services has moved into a larger office at its current location at County Commons in Rio Grande.
The move is just down the hall into better facilities to serve the county’s veterans, according to the Cape May County Human Services Department.
“The decision to relocate was made with the future in mind – to ensure we could expand and enhance the services we provide. We are deeply honored to serve the veterans of Cape May County, and we look forward with great enthusiasm to the opportunities our new larger space and anticipated growth in staffing will bring,” said County Commissioner Bob Barr, liaison to the Division of Veterans’ Services.
The Division of Veterans’ Services helps veterans to apply for benefits through the federal Veterans Administration, while also connecting them with valuable federal, state and local resources available to them.
The Division also oversees burial arrangements at Cape May County’s Gerald M. Thornton Veterans Cemetery.
In 2024, the Division provided support to 938 veterans through individual appointments, assisted 1,178 walk-in visitors, participated in 25 outreach events, responded to 1,634 calls and oversaw 119 burials.
The Division’s larger office is located at County Commons, 3801 Route 9 South, Unit 4, in Rio Grande. Hours of operation are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The division staff is available to assist all residents of Cape May County during regular business hours either in person or on the phone at (609) 886-2762.
The Cape May County Division of Veterans’ Services is a division under the umbrella of the Cape May County Department of Human Services.
