The final paving of New Jersey Avenue (CR 621) in North Wildwood between New York Avenue and 5th Avenue began Tuesday and will continue until Thursday.
This marks the final phase of the ongoing road reconstruction project along the corridor from 5th Street to New York Avenue, Cape May County announced in a news release.
In addition, the existing parking lot along Old New Jersey Avenue will be resurfaced and the existing access off 2nd Avenue will be realigned for improved safety and circulation.
In order to safely and efficiently execute the paving work, New Jersey Avenue will be closed to traffic between New York Avenue and 5th Avenue.
Motorists should follow the posted detours.
Local traffic will always have access through the work zone and all businesses will remain open. The detour will be in place continuously until the final roadway paving has been completed, which is expected to be by the close of business on Thursday.
