Hundreds of volunteers, people of all ages with disabilities and families will gather at the shore this weekend for a day of surfing and recreation in the ocean known as “Life Rolls On.”

The adaptive surfing event for people with disabilities will get underway at 8 a.m. Sunday at the Baker Avenue beach in Wildwood.

“This incredible event brings together volunteers, families and adaptive athletes for a day of riding the waves and proving that ‘life rolls on’ despite any obstacles,” according to a statement promoting the event.

Participants helped by surfing instructors and support teams will experience the thrill of gliding across the ocean, organizers say.

Life Rolls On was founded by three-time world champion quadriplegic surfer Jesse Billauer and is dedicated to improving the quality of life for people living with spinal injuries and other disabilities through adaptive surfing and skating activities.

Sunday’s surfing event in Wildwood is designed to unite people of all abilities “in a shared love for the ocean and adventure.”

“Life Rolls On is more than just a day at the beach – it’s a powerful celebration of resilience, possibility, and the unbreakable human spirit,” the statement said.
