A Cape May County man was charged with drug and weapons offenses after heroin, cocaine, a handgun and a large amount of cash were found in several homes connected to him, authorities announced Monday.
Harold Perez, 34, of the Green Creek section of Middle Township, is suspected of running a drug manufacturing facility, Cape May County Prosecutor Jeffrey H. Sutherland said.
Law enforcement agencies seized approximately 2,100 bags of heroin, more than one half ounce of cocaine, a Ruger handgun, drug paraphernalia consistent with distribution and approximately $10,000 in cash while searching several homes and a motor vehicle connected to Perez, according to Sutherland.
Perez was arrested on multiple drug and weapons charges, including maintaining a narcotics manufacturing facility. He was taken to the Cape May County jail pending court proceedings.
“We will continue to collaborate closely with our federal, state, and local law enforcement partners to combat the spread of dangerous drugs and protect our communities,” Sutherland said in a news release announcing Perez’s arrest. “We encourage all residents to report suspicious or criminal activity. Together, we can ensure Cape May County remains a safe place to live and visit."
