Hundreds of thousands of spectators are expected to enjoy the aerobatic action during the “Thunder Over the Waves” airshow in Wildwood on Sept. 5-6.
The show will feature an array of aircraft and aerobatic performances – ranging from custom-built planes to military aircraft to highly skilled aerialists to skydivers. It will include nearly a dozen headliners ready to show off their unique hardware and skills.
According to estimates, more than 200,000 spectators will pack the Wildwood beachfront to watch the airshow acts streaking overhead. The show is free to the public. Friday, Sept. 5, will be a practice day, while Saturday, Sept. 6, will be the full airshow.
“The airshow is going to be an unforgettable event. We’re ready to give spectators a truly memorable experience in the sky and invite them to enjoy everything our resort has to offer this fall,” said Louis M. Belasco, executive director of the Greater Wildwoods Tourism Improvement and Development Authority, the airshow presenter.

After the airshow, visitors are welcome to join the Wildwoods Food and Music Festival, at Byrne Plaza in downtown Wildwood, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.
