Beginning Jan. 5, South Jersey Gas Company will resume construction on its natural gas infrastructure project along Route 9 in Middle Township and Dennis Township.
Middle and Dennis townships are coordinating with South Jersey Gas to ensure consistent and timely communication with local residents and businesses, according to a news release.
The project will require temporary construction along the following roads: Route 9 between Woodbine-Ocean View Road (CR 550) and Avalon Boulevard (CR 601).
Construction will occur in phases to limit the area of disturbance at any given time. Construction is expected to last approximately 35 working days, subject to weather conditions, the release said.
The project is part of a larger effort to enhance and modernize regional natural gas infrastructure in Cape May County.
Work will involve pipeline-related construction along designated sections of Route 9. South Jersey Gas will be working with its contractor, Utility Line Services, to complete the project while minimizing impacts on the surrounding communities.
For questions about the project, members of the public may call South Jersey Gas at (844) 303-1180 or the contractor, Utility Line Services, at (609) 363-9600, ext. 706.
