During the bye week between the NFC Championship Game and Super Bowl LIX, Eagles' defensive tackle Jalen Carter became $17,445 poorer.
After Washington Commanders' center Tyler Biadasz made contact with Carter's facemask in the fourth quarter, Carter responded with an open-handed slap. No refs on the field saw it at the time, but the NFL did and issued a $17,445 slap to Carter, per Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer:

Even as a top-10 pick, Carter is currently on a rookie deal, making $2.7 million in his second NFL season. He might not be hit by a $17,445 fine the way that the average person would be, but it's also not insignificant for him at this stage either.
Carter actually had a relatively pedestrian day in the box score during the 55-23 NFC Championship Game win, record two tackles. However, he is the type of player who you need to watch to really appreciate, because there's a ton of plays that he helps to wreck, even in the cases where it doesn't show up on the stat sheet. And he normally does pretty well on the stat sheet, too.
