Beginning Wednesday, Feb. 26, a contractor for South Jersey Gas will be performing work on the underground gas lines on Jackson Street between Carpenters Lane and Beach Avenue in Cape May.
Parking will be prohibited Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., the police department said in a Facebook posting.
Vehicular traffic will also be restricted during this time. A police officer will be on-site to assist residents and businesses with deliveries.
During work hours, there may be an odor of natural gas in the area, police said. The work is expected to take four to six weeks to complete.
If anyone has any questions or concerns, they should email the Cape May Police Department at [email protected].
