Scattered severe thunderstorms and flooding are possible in Cape May County starting Tuesday afternoon.
The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for the shore communities from 2 p.m. to midnight.
A widespread line of showers and thunderstorms could bring excessive rainfall to parts of New Jersey, including Cape May. The rainfall may reach as much as 2 inches per hour and result in significant street flooding. Rain and thunderstorms remain in the forecast for Wednesday.

Residents and visitors are urged to closely monitor the forecast and weather conditions. Heavy rain flooding can impact parts of the shore that don’t typically experience tidal flooding, and flooding conditions can develop quickly. Be prepared to move vehicles.
