In an Assembly primary in South Jersey, Republican incumbents Antwan McClellan and Erik Simonsen were unopposed Tuesday in the First Legislative District.
Assembly candidates Carol Sabo and Carolyn Rush were leading in the Democratic primary for the First Legislative District. Brandon Saffold was another candidate in the Democratic primary.
The First Legislative District represents all of Cape May County and parts of Atlantic and Cumberland counties.
At the county level, Cape May County Board of Commission Republican incumbents Andrew Bulakowski and Bob Barr were unopposed in the primary.
No Democrats ran for the Board of Commission in the primary, which virtually guarantees Bulakowski and Barr re-election in November.
Cape May County Clerk Rita Rothberg was unopposed in the Republican primary and will not have a Democratic opponent in the November election.
