The National Weather Service has issued a Coastal Flood Advisory in effect for Cape May and nearby coastal areas from 7 p.m. Thursday to 1 a.m. Friday.
A new moon and northeast winds will combine to cause “minor” coastal flooding, according to the weather forecast.
Residents should be prepared to monitor conditions and to move vehicles to safe places well in advance of high tide.
“If travel is required, allow extra time as some roads may be closed. Do not drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth. Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone property,” the Cape May Police Department said in a weather alert.
For Police and Fire Department emergencies, call 911. For non-emergencies, call 609-884-9500.
