Fallen Hero Plunge set for April 5 in North Wildwood

The 18th annual Fallen Hero Plunge will be held in North Wildwood on Saturday, April 5, to honor the memory of law enforcement officers who lost their lives in the line of duty.

This year’s event will take place at 11 a.m. on the 15th Street Beach. Take a dip in the water and celebrate a great cause at participating restaurants. Proceeds from the event will benefit the families of fallen heroes.  

Registration for the plunge is open on the event’s page at www.FallenHeroPlunge.com. The online registration fee is $35 per plunger. The first 600 people to sign up will receive a commemorative T-shirt.

Plungers can register in-person at Keenan’s Irish Pub in the evening on Friday, April 4. On-site registration is available the day of the event from 8:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. The fee is $40 for adults and $15 for children under 15 years of age.  

All registered plungers are invited to the post-plunge party taking place at 12 p.m. at Keenan’s Irish Pub and sponsoring locations, including the Anglesea Pub, Tacos and Tequila, Exit 6, North End American Grill, Curran’s Irish Inn, The Elks Lodge #1896, Flip Flopz Restaurant and Bar, #1 Tavern Super Tully Nut, The Rook, The Surfing Pig, Firehouse Tavern, Ship ‘N Shore, and Fairview Social. There will be an auction of autographed items, gift certificates and gift baskets. Prizes will be awarded for the best costumes at the plunge. Participants do not have to wear costumes to the after-party.

Keenan’s Irish Pub will be offering a complimentary buffet from 12:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. for those with wristbands. Non-plungers will be able to purchase a wristband for $20 to participate in the post-plunge party at Keenan’s. All proceeds from the wristbands will go directly to the Fallen Heroes Survivors Fund.
