The annual Cape May County Memorial Day ceremony will be held Monday, May 26, at the Gerald M. Thornton Veterans Cemetery, 127 Crest Haven Road, Cape May Court House.
Residents, visitors and veterans are invited to join the 1 p.m. ceremony hosted by the Cape May County Board of Commissioners. All are welcome to attend in remembrance, reflection and gratitude for those who made the ultimate sacrifice for the nation and freedom.
Cape May County recently completed the first phase of a comprehensive beautification project at the County Veterans Cemetery. The second phase is expected to begin this fall.
“The Board of Commissioners are honored to move this project to completion, and they encourage the public to visit and pay respect to our local veterans at their final resting place in the Gerald M. Thornton Veterans Cemetery,” according to a news release.
