The National Weather Service has issued a Coastal Flood Advisory in effect for the city of Cape May and nearby coastal areas from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday.
An approaching new moon (Monday, May 26), rain, and northeast winds will combine to cause “minor” coastal flooding.
Some partial or full road closures are possible.
“If travel is required, allow extra time as some roads may be closed. Do not drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth. Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone property,” the Cape May Police Department said in a statement.
For Police and Fire Department emergencies, call 911. For non-emergencies, call 609-884-9500.
