A detour will be in effect in the daytime during construction work, but will be lifted at night and on weekends.
Cape May County will begin a construction project on Monday, Nov. 10, on Fishing Creek Road in Lower Township.
Traffic will be detoured on Fishing Creek Road, also known as County Route 639, during the work. Motorists should follow the posted detour.
The detour will be in effect during the day when active construction is taking place. Normal traffic patterns will resume at night and on weekends.
Local traffic will be maintained, giving residents access to their homes at all times, according to a county news release.
The limits of the project on Fishing Creek Road are from Tabernacle Road (County Route 647) to Shunpike Road (County Route 644).
Improvements will include drainage upgrades, milling and paving. In addition, the intersection of Fishing Creek Road and Shunpike Road will be converted to a four-way stop configuration.
The project is expected to be completed by the end of December.
