The Wildwood Business Improvement District will host its annual Remembrance Ceremony to honor the victims of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorism attacks.

The ceremony is scheduled for 1 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 11, at Byrne Plaza, 3400 Pacific Ave. in downtown Wildwood.

The Wildwood Business Improvement District hosts the observance each year to honor and remember the nearly 3,000 people who were killed, and thousands injured, by the 9/11 attacks.

The ceremony also honors the thousands of Ground Zero first responders who have died over the past 24 years due to 9/11-related illnesses.

Local political, religious and civic leaders will be joined at the ceremony by representatives of the Wildwood Police Department and the Wildwood Fire Department. Members of the public are invited to attend.

In addition to the speakers, the ceremony will include the “Ringing of the Bell” by the Fire Department and the “Presenting of the Colors” by the Wildwood Honor Guard.
