Poor Humpty Dumpty. He had a great fall. Hopefully, they’ll be able to put him back together again.
An iconic Humpty Dumpty-like figure was badly damaged after it was stolen from a miniature golf course in Cape May and then dumped several blocks away.
Now, Cape May police are looking for the two suspects believed to be involved in the incident, which occurred at the Ocean Putt Miniature Golf Course on Jackson Street and Beach Avenue.
Police said in a Facebook post that at least one of the suspects entered the miniature golf course at around 4 a.m. on Sept. 7.
“One suspect was seen climbing the fence on Jackson Street and damaging the iconic vintage Humpty Dumpty figure by forcibly removing it from the structure where it was mounted. The suspect then removed the figure from the property and discarded it several properties away on Jackson Street,” police said.
Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspects. Video and photos are included on the police department’s Facebook post, including one picture that shows a badly damaged Humpty Dumpty.
