A convicted felon released from prison in October, is now charged with attempted murder in a knife attack in Middle Township.

Andrew Enman, 38, of Egg Harbor Township, is accused of stabbing the victim with a knife during an argument, Middle Township police said.

Officers responded to the 300 block of Reeves Street in Middle's Whitesboro section Tuesday, just before midnight.

They found the 43-year-old victim lying on the ground with a laceration to his neck and left shoulder, according to the affidavit of probable cause obtained by BreakingAC. A fixed-blade knife was found in the driveway nearby.

Officers rendered immediate aid until emergency medical personnel arrived, police said.

The victim was subsequently airlifted to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center's City Campus in Atlantic City for treatment.

Multiple witnesses saw the argument and attack, the affidavit states.

Enman then fled in red Dodge pick-up with a flat tire, witnesses told police. He was found sitting in that truck a short distance from the scene, according to the affidavit.

He faces six charges, including first-degree attempted murder, second- and third-degree aggravated assault and third-degree possession of a weapon by a certain person not allowed to possess a weapon.

Enman's criminal history include four domestic restraining order violations within six months from October 2021 to April 2022.

Enman previously was sentenced to four years in prison in connection with a weapons case out of Rio Grande in January 2024.

At that time, an investigation led to Room 103 of the Shelton Motel on Route 47, where he was staying.

Police found suspected heroin, methamphetamine and gabapentin in that room, along with a folding knife, a hatchet and three fixed-blade knives, according to the affidavit of probable cause in that case.

He pleaded guilty to possession of a weapon while committing a drug offense, and was sentenced to four years with no term of parole ineligibility.

Enman was released from South Woods State Prison on Oct. 9.

He could face 10 to 20 years on the new first-degree attempted murder charge.

Enman is in the Cape May County Correctional Facility.
