Atlantic City police investigating after man posts dog fight

Atlantic City police are investigating after a man went Facebook Live from a dog fight.

The video shows one on its back being attacked by another in what appears to be Stanley Holmes Village.

"That's what happens when you let your (expletive) dog loose around this (expletive)," Laquay Lewis says on the Live posted to Facebook starting at 10:12 a.m. Friday.

He posted two later videos from his home in response to the negative reaction the original video had online.

In one, he claims that the dog attacked in the video was running around loose, "chasing (expletive) and doing shit, so he ran up on the wrong (expletive) and got his ass whipped."

But a photo posted of the dog before the attack tells a different story.

"Can someone help me find this dog's owner?" a woman posted, saying the dog followed her home and would not leave.

Later, it was reposted to say, "This was a hour before the attack, the dog was harmless."

BreakingAC redacted the Facebook profile's name.

It was unclear what happened to the dogs.

The video starts out showing three dogs, with the one on the ground and two others biting at him.

Then a man — who turns when Lewis yells "Nash" — comes and takes one of the dogs away.

A man can be seen harnessing one dog as another continues attacking a dog on the ground.

"Take him in the house, and come back and get the other one," a man off screen — who sounds like Lewis — can be heard saying.

As the one dog continues biting the other, Lewis turns the camera on himself.

"Better keep your (expletive) dogs on a leash," the 53-year-old city says as he turns the camera to himself. "Don't let 'em around here, cause they might not make it back home"

He turns back to the attack, where another man can be seen recording the incident.

The dog on top is seen wagging his tail still with his teeth clamped on dog that is lying on its back.

The biting dog then jerks back, causing the lower dog to be drug slightly. The dog on top then shakes his head back and forth, causing the dog being bitten to yelp.

No one yells at the dogs or makes any attempt to interrupt.

The man who took the third dog away can be seen standing behind them with what appears to be the same pink harness leash he took the other dog away with.

He does not interrupt the fight or make any noise and then walks away.

BreakingAC was tagged multiple times in the video and by those who shared it, while others sent links in messages to this reporter.

The video is not being tagged in this story.

Atlantic City Police Chief James Sarkos confirmed the incident is under investigation.

The investigator has a copy of the video, and there also are cameras in that area will be looked at.

Anyone with information about the video is asked to call police at 609-347-5766. Information also can be texted anonymously to tip411 (847411), beginning the text with ACPD.
