Allegiant Air, the newest airline at Atlantic City International Airport, announced Tuesday that it will offer nonstop flights to and from Myrtle Beach, S.C., starting May 21.

Fares will start at $49 one-way to celebrate the launch.

Just last week, the Las Vegas-based Allegiant launched its inaugural flights from Atlantic City to Punta Gorda, Fla., at Punta Gorda Airport and St. Petersburg, Fla., via St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport.

“We’re thrilled to continue Allegiant’s growth in Atlantic City by adding this new route,” Allegiant's Chief Commercial Officer Drew Wells said in a statement. “Our mission has always been to connect travelers to world-class destinations at an affordable price. This addition will provide a convenient option for leisure travelers and reflects our commitment to expanding service where demand is strong. As we grow, we remain focused on delivering the most value to our customers.”

Tickets for the new route between Atlantic City International and Myrtle Beach International Airport are currently on sale online.

“We’re excited to see Allegiant add service to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina,” said Stephen Dougherty, executive director of the South Jersey Transportation Authority, operator of Atlantic City International.

“For our passengers, this opens the door to a classic getaway with 60 miles of beaches, headline attractions like the SkyWheel, and a destination that’s known by many as the Golf Capital of the World. For our region, it means more easy, affordable access to one of the East Coast’s most popular vacation spots,” Dougherty added

A hallmark of Allegiant’s leisure-focused business model is its network of all-nonstop flights, making air travel more seamless and accessible. Passengers spend less time at the airport and more time enjoying their vacation, the airline said.

Allegiant Air will fly nonstop between Atlantic City International Airport and Myrtle Beach, S.C., beginning May 21.
